7. Assault On Precinct 13 (1976)
Fantastic action thriller from John Carpenter.
A cop,two police staff and two prisoners are inside a soon-to-be defunct police station and must defend it and themselves,after it comes under attack from a huge heavily armed gang of thugs.
Highlights are the silencer gun attack on the building and the ice cream scene. The latter scene really shocked me when i first saw it in my mid-teens and it’s still quite shocking all these years later.
The main title theme tune plays about 10 times at various points throughout the film and it’ll get stuck in your head!
Low budget,gritty and tense. Love it!
