22. Nobody’s Hero (1989)

Hong Kong thriller starring Liu Wai-hung as a downtrodden kinda guy,working as a security guard in a shopping mall. After a disastrous relationship with his current girlfriend (who is a proper bitch to him!),he comes to find love in the shape of a blind girl,played by Kathy Chau. Unfortunately,it turns out she is being used as a drugs courier by her gangster uncle who uses a shop as a front in the mall that our ‘hero’ works in.

Got that? Good.

This is a mix of dark drama,some light comedy and at the very end,some incredibly brutal violence!

Wasn’t quite sure what to expect from this HK curio,but it’s actually very watchable. The violence in the last ten minutes made me wince (you get an idea of what happens by looking at the cover above!) and i though the very last scene was quite emotional… *sniff*
